OUR PROMISE
Spatial Dimensions doesn’t just survey and create data. We help our clients build a brighter future, day in and day out. Our sustainability pledge shapes the way we work and how spaces across the country are formed.
We understand our actions now will have long-term impacts on future generations. That’s why we’re playing an active role in the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC), the race to Net-Zero and retrofit work (including WH:SHF/ SHDF funding). We believe that minimising our carbon footprint is integral. This is done whilst actively promoting biodiversity that will have a positive long-term impact.
Working together, our positive impact is huge! We believe our industry can make a difference and pave the way for a sustainable future.
OUR SUSTAINABILITY PLEDGE
TO HELP CREATE LONG-TERM & SUSTAINABLE
SOLUTIONS ACROSS SECTORS
As surveyors, our data helps shape sustainable spaces across all sectors. We believe that the creation of new, and regeneration of existing buildings should be sustainable. The circular economy is promoted and we believe will continue to play a key role in the long term.
TO REDUCE OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT
& INCREASE EFFICIENCY
We are committed to sustainable practices whilst planning, travelling and working on-site. Often we are one of the first people on site. We understand we must set the standard for the rest of the project.
PRIORITISE THE HEALTH & WELL-BEING OF INDIVIDUALS THROUGH SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES
Individuals and their communities’ needs are at the very centre of our ethos. Our retrofit work, and work throughout SHDF/WH:SHF waves, has played a vital role in making homes cheaper, warmer and more energy efficient.
HELP RESTORE NATURE
& PROMOTE BIODIVERSITY
50% of our economy is linked to nature. We see the built environment as a key player in reversing biodiversity loss. We believe the key targets set at COP15 for 2030, must be taken seriously. This is something we actively work towards, company wide.
THE IMPORTANCE OF SUSTAINBILITY
Why is having a sustainability pledge important? It’s simple. A sustainability pledge is important because sustainability is important. According to the UK Parliament website, the UK’s built environment is responsible for 25% of all greenhouse gas emissions.
If we are to reach net-zero targets as an industry, we must be proactive.
Embracing green construction practices is pivotal for lessening the sector’s environmental footprint and living up to public expectations. By embracing renewable practices and materials the sector can work towards net-zero targets and help save the planet.
UK GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL (UKGBC)
We are proud member of the UK Green Building Council.
The UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) is a membership-led network comprising over 700 organizations dedicated to transforming the sustainability of the built environment.
The UKGBC’s mission involves leading the industry in radically improving the built environment’s sustainability through planning, design, construction, operation, and repurposing.
The UKGBC works on various fronts, including climate change mitigation, advancing net-zero agendas, retrofitting, nature, resource use, and circular economy, aiming to shape a built environment that benefits both people and the planet. This directly relates to our sustainability pledge.
