THE BRIEF
Camden Council owns approximately 33,000 properties in the North London Borough. In 2019, Camden Council announced a climate emergency and committed to reaching net zero by 2030 (20 years before the full UK government’s plan).
Aside from this, they highlighted that 10,000 homes in Camden are living in fuel poverty, with the number expected to exponentially increase as prices increase. Camden Council pledged the aim of making all council properties energy efficient under the ‘Camden Climate Action Plan.’
Spatial Dimensions were instructed by Baily Garner in mid-February 2024 to be the project’s measured surveyors. Re-design plays a key role in enhancing the energy efficiency of existing buildings through retrofit, making our survey data extremely important.
Retrofit work in this area will have a huge impact on the residents, and we are excited to be part of the project.
OUR WORK
The first phase of work included surveys on four housing blocks on the Curnock Estate.
Whilst on-site, our teams were conscious to minimise disruption to the residents. This meant quick and effective surveys were of the utmost importance.
Our teams carried out measured building and topographical surveys to create LOD 3 models. The 3D models are used to create exact representations of the area, helping to make informed decisions on the Curnock Estate. You can view some of the models below.
THE OUTCOME
The 3D models were delivered to our client before the due date in the formats requested. Bailey Garner were very pleased with the work, and we look forward to working with them again.
At the time of writing, the retrofit scheme is running on schedule.
