SHEPHERD NEAME BREWERY SITE

THE BRIEF

Shepherd Neame is Britain’s Oldest Brewer. The company is based in the Kentish town of Faversham, and has been for centuries. The brewer uses natural ingredients, including mineral water from the town’s aquifer and local hops.

The Faversham site hosts 4500 jobs, and is one of the most renowned breweries in the UK.

Shepherd Neame is at the forefront of pioneering brewing methods, including sustainable practices. As a company, Shepherd Neame are committed to quality practices, which extends to it’s work environment.

OUR WORK

We conducted a topographical survey to OS Grid and Ordnance datum of the Faversham site along with a measured building survey and LOD 1 massing Revit model.

The Revit model in particular helped with understanding building volumes and roofscapes for context.

There were both 2D and 3D AutoCAD files, delivered to the customer along with laser scan data. The floor plans were in various levels of detail (LOD), so we worked with the client closely to decide where this would be.

The client was looking to potentially redevelop the site and maximise the available space.

As this is a working site, we had to be careful to not disrupt the work, and to work to strict time scales.

THE OUTCOME

We managed to have all the work completed on site in February 2023 and sent to the client when requested. At the time of writing, the project was underway positively, with the help of Spatial Dimensions, and is all on track!
