The former Lewis’s Department Store is one of Liverpool’s most iconic landmark buildings situated on the corner of Renshaw Street and Ranelagh Street.
The original Lewis’s Department Store dates back to 1856. The building burnt down in the infamous fire of 1886, and was heavily bombed by the Luftwaffe during the Second World War.
Spatial Dimensions were briefed to provide a partial Scan to BIM survey for the purposes of a comprehensive programme of redevelopment and remodelling.
Particular attention was needed on the structural beams and columns. So the architect could maximise the available space for the client.
A measured building survey, conducted with Total stations and Laser Scanners and controlled to Ordnance Survey Grid & Datum. The deliverable was an LOD3 model.
Phase one has recently been completed and the building now provides 75,000 sq ft of Grade A offices.
