DUMBLETON HALL HOTEL

THE BRIEF

A complete internal refurbishment of the Grade 2 listed Dumbleton Hall Hotel was planned, requiring a full measured survey to be completed in 5 days, over a busy August bank holiday when the hotel was at full occupancy.

The challenge was to avoid disrupting hotel guests, whilst ensuring every room was accurately surveyed, to a high level of detail.

Any delays to the survey timeline, would have resulted in missing key project deadlines. The knock on effect being costly delays to the subsequent redesign and refurbishment project.

This presented a huge risk to the owners of the hotel, as a delayed refurbishment would have resulted in lower occupancy and loss of revenue.

OUR WORK

The Dumbleton Hall Hotel is an impressive Cotswold Manor House, with 38 ensuite rooms, set in 19 acres of private gardens and woodland, with its own lake. The original parts of Dumbleton Hall can be traced back to 1534, and so it is Grade 2 listed.

The Spatial Dimensions team carried out a full measured survey of the 3,500m2 site over a period of 5 days, with CAD drawings delivered within 2 weeks.

We liaised closely with building operators to ensure minimal disruption to guests, whilst also ensuring we captured the high level of detail required, to allow architects and designers to accurately plan the refurbishment of this important historical building.

THE OUTCOME

The Spatial Dimensions team delivered a full set of CAD drawings on time, within 2 weeks of the initial site survey.

At the time of writing, designs for the refurbished Dumbleton Hall Hotel are now underway, with work expected to be completed in summer 2022.
