SPATIAL DIMENSIONS & NORTH KENT COLLEGE
Spatial Dimensions have our routes routed in Kent, and North Kent specifically. Aligning with The Survey Association (TSA), we actively promote and believe that surveying is a fantastic career opportunity for young people.
It is therefore, with pleasure, we announce a partnership with North Kent College (NKC). NKC has sites in Dartford, Gravesend, Hadlow and Tonbridge with over 6,000 students. The North Kent Colleges are great community assets and we’re excited to see what the future holds, together!
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
As a company, we have committed to helping North Kent College with work placements. This will mainly be focused at T-Level Students across all NKC sites.
As well as work placements, we will offer study sessions for the students, and help encourage the next generation in STEM industries.
Whilst on placement, students will have access to on-site and office training. We are committed to giving the students a well rounded view of surveying as well as the constructing industry, as a whole.
WHAT DOES A PLACEMENT LOOK LIKE?
Our current work placement student, Harrison, is with us one day a week. He’s currently studying ‘Surveying, Planning and Design’ at North Kent College. Whilst on site, Harrison is partnered with a Senior Surveyor ensuring he accesses a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Being on-site allows our work placement students to work across sectors and learn various survey techniques. To ensure Harrison has a well-rounded experience he has also gained an understanding of office and processing work.
We sat down with Harrison to speak about his time with Spatial Dimensions, and whether he’d recommend us to his peers. See the video below!
As a company, we are committed to offering opportunities within the industry to young people. This will benefit them and their careers, as well as combating the skill shortage in the sector.
