FUNDRAISING FOR KENWARD TRUST & IT'S IMPORTANCE
We are excited to be fundraising for the Kenward Trust who focus on key issues across Kent.
The Kenward Trust plays a pivotal role in the Kent and Medway communities through its “Kenward in the Community” initiative. This service is dedicated to the prevention and early intervention of alcohol and substance misuse among youth. By offering a combination of early intervention programs, community outreach, and their “Think Differently” education initiative for schools, the Kenward Trust is on the front lines in the fight against substance abuse.
Their approach includes the use of real-life stories and experiences from individuals who have struggled with addiction—some of whom are ex-prisoners or currently volunteering from prison. This method helps in making a tangible impact on young minds about the dangers and consequences of drug and alcohol dependency.
WHY IS FUNDRAISING NEEDED?
- Resources: The programs that the Kenward Trust offers, including school visits, tailored educational days, and community outreach initiatives, require substantial resources.
- Expansion and Reach: To reach more schools, groups, and communities, the Kenward Trust needs the financial backing to expand its programs. Fundraising can help scale their efforts to cover more ground and impact a larger section of the youth population.
- Continuity: Funding ensures that the initiative is not just a one-time effort but can be sustained over time. This is crucial for creating long-term change and effectiveness.
- Long-Term Planning: Increased funds mean charities like the Kenward Trust can plan months, and years in advance. This ensures programmes can be seen through from start to finish.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Each school visit costs £300. The aim of Kenward Trust is to save young lives by visiting as many schools as possible. The short term aim is to raise £3,000 to visit another 10 schools next year. Through your donation, no matter what size, we can help the Kenward Trust to continue to work with schools to educate young people on the effect substance misuse has on physical and mental health.
