The Brief
This project, named the ‘Centenary Vision’ was launched in 2015 by Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal. It is part of a 10-year development plan to enhance the school, in advance of their centenary year in 2023.

The project was under immense time pressure, as work had to be carried out during school holidays, for an intense rolling programme of redevelopment.
Given the age of the building and its heritage features, the survey had to give close attention to detail and absolute accuracy was critical. Wood panelling and ornate features were captured and meticulously modelled to ensure careful planning for the restoration project.
Our Work
Spatial Dimensions were commissioned to provide full measured surveys of the 6 boarding houses at the school. Using laser scanning, CAD and 3D Revit modelling, the team produced a stunning set of deliverables.
Particular emphasis was put on the MEP (mechanical, electrical & plumbing) installations and notable heritage features in Hemstead boarding house, which dates back to the late 1800s and was last remodelled in the early 1900s into a Tudor-come-Jacobean style.
The Outcome
Guldeford and Echyngham houses were measured during the summer break of 2021 and delivered shortly after in late August.
Hemsted and Norris Boarding houses were also surveyed in Summer 2021 and a LOD3 Revit model (including MEP & heritage detail) delivered in November 2021.
